Founded in 1998, Seattle Bride is the region’s premier luxury bridal magazine and website, catering to engaged couples looking for the top wedding vendors and the most creative, inspired ideas for their Northwest wedding. Seattle Bride is published twice a year, in July and January, but their website is updated daily with news, tips, and stories designed to make wedding planning easier for local brides.
One of their most spirited features is their “Best of” contest. This contest is open to all wedding vendors in the Pacific Northwest. The “best” vendor is chosen by their peers and readers through a questionnaire found in the January issue. Voting takes place online and is open to anyone wishing to cast a ballot by March 1, 2011.
I have been honored to receive the “Best of” awards in 2007, 2008, and 2009, and was a runner-up in 2010. I would consider it an honor if you would cast your vote for me this year.
I had the privilege of hearing Sasha Souza speak at The Ruins on February 24 and having her autograph her “hot off the press” book – Sasha … Magnificent Weddings by Design. Even though I have been a wedding coordinator for over 20 years, I still love learning all I can from my peers. Sasha is a very open person and doesn’t hesitate to tell you the nuts and bolts of how she works. If you get a chance, check out her latest book to see some of the beautiful weddings she has helped inspire and design.
WOW!! I decided that 2010 was going to be the year that I made some changes to my business and myself. I am pleased to announce the launching of my new website (www.aisleofview.com) and am thrilled with the look and content. This has been in the making for a l-o-n-g time with Jeremy beginning the work in the summer of 2009 and Greg Sicotte (LinkedIQ) stepping in last month to finalize all the details. I am quite pleased with the end result and hope you are taking your time to navigate around it.
In addition, I have changed my logo and paper products – business card, letterhead, etc. – and will be ready to introduce a new brochure in the summer-fall of 2010 (depending on how much time I have between my weddings this year). Again, I am quite pleased with my new look!
As for myself, I have made the commitment to have a more balanced life. My “baby” is already five years old, I’ve been married for almost 11 years to a wonderful man, and I have so much to be thankful for. That being said, I want to enjoy my personal life as much as I love coordinating weddings. I’m sure I’ll have to be reminded of this when I am in the throes of summer weddings, but will do my best to spend more time with my family and take the time for manis and pedis on a monthly basis to rejuvenate myself.
