It took them awhile to figure this out but once they did, they were solid. The ceremony took place in the beautiful foyer of the Spanish Ballroom of the Fairmont Hotel – incorporating all the Jewish customs … Chuppah, Ketubah, bride circling the groom, groom circling the bride, and the bride and groom circling together, breaking of the glass, Yichud, and the Horah. After the ceremony, the guests mingled in the foyer and then entered the Ballroom for a four-course plated dinner.
Smokey purple was the color palette for this wedding. Dinner napkins were folded into a bow with a beautiful silver napkin ring. Favors were silver boxes with amorini hearts inside. Menu cards were placed under the chargers.
The highlight of the evening was when the Groom’s grandfather announced he was going to dance with his bride of almost 55 years. What made this so amazing was that the grandmother had suffered from a stroke a few months prior to the wedding and was in a wheelchair. Grandpa swept her out of the wheelchair and they glided across the dance floor – with every guest watching and tears streaming down their faces.
This was such a great wedding because of the history of these families.
